Abstract

This paper presents the results of composting processes using sapropel from fish farms in the Syrdarya and Khorezm regions as a primary feedstock. The research examines the transformation of organic matter (OM) from these components into humic compounds with varying C/N ratios. It was found that increasing the ratio of sapropel to manure, combined with a maturation period of 1–150 days, led to a higher degree of humification and reduced loss of material to the gas phase. The optimal composting conditions were determined to be a sapropel-to-manure ratio of 70:30 and a maturation period of 90 days.
