ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF MACHINE TRANSLATION (GOOGLE TRANSLATE AND OTHERS)

Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of machine translation technologies, in particular, Google Translate, Yandex Translate, DeepL and other automatic translation systems. The article highlights the importance of machine translation in language learning, international communication, scientific research and intercultural dialogue. It also provides information on the principles of operation of these programs, translation methods based on artificial intelligence and neural networks. However, machine translation still has limitations in terms of grammatical accuracy, semantic nuance and full understanding of context. The research results emphasize that human translators and automatic systems should be considered as complementary tools.
