Abstract
This article analyzes the effectiveness of the centrally acting muscle relaxant Midakalm (tolperisone) in the treatment of sciatica. Sciatica is a painful syndrome that occurs as a result of compression or inflammation of the sciatic nerve (nervus ischiadicus), which is mainly manifested by pain in the lower back, buttocks and legs. This pathology is one of the most common diseases of the nervous system, the etiology of which is mainly spinal disc degeneration, compression of nerve roots, muscle spasms and local circulatory disorders. Tolperisone has a complex therapeutic effect in these processes by reducing muscle spasm, reducing pain and improving microcirculation.
