Abstract
The article discusses the issues of studying anthroponyms from a linguocultural perspective. It analyzes the connotations of personal names, their cultural content, their role in expressing national identity, and their functional features in a literary text. It also discusses the phenomenon of precedent names and their role in the linguocultural system. It substantiates the fact that the linguocultural approach is an effective scientific direction in revealing the relationship between language and culture.
