Abstract

This article emphasizes that proverbs are one of the popular genres of Uzbek folk oral literature, and they have been formed as a concise and effective way of expressing life experiences, wisdom, customs and values ​​accumulated over centuries. Proverbs can tell a lot about the worldview, social relations and spiritual values ​​of the people. Therefore, it is recognized that studying them from a historical point of view is of great importance not only for linguistics, but also for the fields of ethnography, cultural studies and history.
