MAIN PESTS OF GRAIN LEGUMES AND CONTROL MEASURES

Abstract

This article examines the main pests of grain legumes and the measures used to control them. It provides information on such widespread pests as the bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus), the pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum), the pea leaf weevil (Sitona lineatus), spider mites (Tetranychus urticae) and thrips (Thrips tabaci). Their characteristics, distribution and the damage they cause to plants are described. Particular attention is paid to an integrated plant protection system comprising agronomic, biological and chemical methods aimed at increasing crop yields and ensuring the ecological sustainability of crops.
