Abstract

Today, one of the most problematic areas of linguistics is the direction of psycholinguistics. This article also analyzes the process of inner speech in humans from a psycholinguistic perspective. The research paper discusses the role of inner speech as the basis for outer speech, the stages of formation of inner speech, and its differences from egocentric speech. The information provided is substantiated by excerpts from literary texts. The experiences and opinions of a number of scientists are analyzed. At the same time, the functions of inner speech are also discussed.
