MODERN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES: MOTIVATIONAL SIGNIFICANCE OF VIRTUAL TOURS FOR TOURISM STUDENTS

Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of modern educational technologies, in particular virtual excursions, in increasing the learning motivation of tourism students. The tourism industry is practice-oriented, and it is difficult to provide students with a sufficient amount of real travel experience during traditional lessons. Virtual excursions based on virtual reality (VR) and 360-degree videos are an effective means of overcoming this problem, increasing students' cognitive interest, and engaging them in the active learning process. The article presents a comparative analysis of traditional lesson structures and VR-based lesson structures, and also proposes a blended model of them. The results of the study show that virtual excursions play an important motivational role in increasing students' interest in science and their future profession, and in better understanding and consolidating educational materials.
