Abstract

This study examines the methodological foundations of developing critical thinking in students at A1+ level. The goal is to develop students' independent thinking, analysis, and communication skills in foreign language lessons. It is devoted to highlighting the methodological foundations of developing critical thinking competence in students. The study showed the possibilities of developing students' independent thinking, analysis, reasoning, and reflection skills in the process of learning a foreign language through critical thinking exercises. The study is aimed at strengthening thinking activity in foreign language lessons, forming students as active subjects, and expanding their cognitive, thinking, and expressive potential. According to the results, critical thinking exercises increase students' motivation in the process of language acquisition and increase their readiness for communication.
