Abstract
This thesis provides a broad overview of the theoretical foundations of formative assessment tools in the development of students' thinking within the framework of general pedagogical theory. The concept of formative assessment and its role in the educational process, its impact on the formation of students' metacognitive and analytical abilities, as well as methodological aspects of activating the thinking process through pedagogical strategies are analyzed from a scientific perspective. The thesis provides an in-depth analysis of the methodological tools of formative assessment, ensuring the active participation of students based on self-assessment and reflexive analysis, as well as scientific sources related to theoretical and practical pedagogical approaches
