COGNITIVE AND PEDAGOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE FEYNMAN METHOD IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING: A NEW APPROACH IN THE CONTEXT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines the cognitive and pedagogical significance of the Feynman Technique in foreign language acquisition within the context of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The study highlights how the core components of the Feynman Technique—simplification, active explanation, reconstruction, creative repetition, and error-based learning—promote deep, meaningful, and durable language competence. The paper also discusses the growing misuse of AI tools among learners, such as relying on AI to complete assignments, which leads to passive learning and hinders cognitive development. Furthermore, it proposes scientifically grounded strategies for effective AI integration in language learning, including using AI for simplified explanations, reverse teaching, generating contextual examples, engaging in role-play dialogues, and conducting error diagnostics. Proper alignment of AI with the Feynman Technique is argued to significantly enhance language learning efficiency.
