Abstract

The article compares female characters in the novella «Live and Remember» by Valentin Rasputin and the novel “Horizon» by Said Ahmad in the context of war and moral choice. The analysis reveals typological similarities and national-cultural features in the representation of women’s destinies in 20th century Russian and Uzbek prose.
