"USE OF TPR, AUDIO-VISUAL AND GAMIFICATION METHODS IN TEACHING ENGLISH VOCABULARY IN PRIMARY GRADES"

Abstract

This article studies the relevance of using the following 3 modern, yet effective methods for memorizing English vocabulary for primary school students: TPR (Total Physical Response), Audio-Visual and Gamification methods based on the analysis of the cited scientific literature. Taking into account the cognitive and psychophysiological state of young learners today, it is argued that the use of audio-visual aids and game methods, demonstrated through various movement games, multimedia tools and games, in the lesson process, significantly increases the effectiveness of the lesson. The analysis showed that the integrative method of the above methods increased word memorization in children by up to 40%, which means that it is more effective than odd word memorization. The article concludes with practical recommendations for language teachers in primary schools.
