LINGUOPRAGMATIC PROPERTIES OF THE MEDIA TYPE “STATEMENT AND CONCLUSION” IN ENGLISH AND UZBEKISTAN MEDIA HEADLINES

Abstract
This article examines the lingua-pragmatic features of English and Uzbek media headlines through the lens of the "Statement and Conclusion" media type. The study provides a comparative analysis of the binary structure of headlines, the expression of deontic and epistemic modalities, and the impact of the author's stance on the reader's perception. The analysis reveals a predominance of criticalprovocative modality in English headlines and didactic-social modality in Uzbek ones. The findings serve to enrich theoretical perspectives in medialinguistics and pragmatics with fresh empirical data from contemporary media
