Abstract
The article analyzes the concepts of critical thinking and motivation, as well as the importance of forming students' external motivation based on critical thinking, its history, and its significance in the educational process. It also reveals the effectiveness of critical thinking in the educational process and the role of external motivation in students' knowledge acquisition. The article highlights the role and prospects of motivation in the education system
