IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS OF DEICTIC UNITS IN GERMAN RELIGIOUS TEXTS

Abstract
This article analyzes the linguistic features of deictic
units used in German religious texts and their role in shaping textual
meaning. Religious texts differ from other types of texts in their stylistic,
semantic, and pragmatic characteristics. In such texts, deictic units
express information related to person, time, and place, ensuring the
clarity and precision of the content and strengthening the communicative
connection between the author and the reader. The study examines
personal, spatial, and temporal deictic units found in German religious
texts and highlights their stylistic and semantic functions in religious
discourse. Furthermore, the importance of these units in interpreting the
meaning of religious texts and translating them into other languages is
scientifically discussed.
