PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN DEVELOPING FUTURE ENGLISH TEACHERS' COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE BASED ON THE UDL PRINCIPLE

Abstract
This article provides an extended analysis of applying
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to develop
communicative competence in future English language teachers.
Drawing on foreign (USA, Europe, ESL/EFL contexts) and national
(Uzbekistan higher education) experiences, it examines in detail the
emerging challenges and offers evidence-based solutions. The findings
demonstrate that UDL-based instruction significantly increases
students’ communicative engagement, accommodates diverse learning
styles and needs, fosters inclusive environments, and effectively builds
linguistic, sociolinguistic, discourse, and strategic competencies essential
for future professional practice.
