SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF PHRASEOLOGISMS FORMED WITH THE VERBS “AVOIR” AND “ÊTRE” IN FRENCH

Abstract
This article analyzes the lexico-semantic characteristics
of phraseological units in the French language formed with the verbs
“avoir”and “être”. These verbs have a high frequency of use in French and,
due to their polysemy, play an important role in the formation of
numerous fixed expressions. The study demonstrates that phraseological
units based on the verb “avoir” mainly express a conceptual model of
possession, whereas those formed with the verb “être” reflect the concepts
of identity and existence. Through cognitive and stylistic approaches, the
research reveals how these expressions represent human states, emotions,
and behaviors in French. As a result, phraseological units are shown to
be an important linguistic means that reflect the cultural and conceptual
features of the language.
