THE HARMONY OF FOLK APPLIED ART AND MODERN ART IN POTTERY WORKS

Abstract
This article analyses the historical roots of the art of pottery, its place within folk applied art, and the processes of its convergence with contemporary art. The author elucidates the preservation of traditional ornament, form, and techniques in ceramic works alongside the application of innovative approaches, new materials, and means of artistic expression characteristic of contemporary art. The present stage in the development of pottery, the factors influencing it, existing problems, and promising directions are likewise examined on a scientific basis. As a result of the study, it is substantiated that the harmony of folk applied art and contemporary art is bringing pottery to a new stage.
