Abstract

This article investigates the principles of the development of the landscape genre in contemporary Uzbek painting, and in particular the aesthetic and philosophical essence of national colour in creating a landscape composition. The place occupied by colour as an ethnocultural code and the artistic interpretation of light and shade proceeding from regional climatic features are subjected to scholarly analysis. In the course of the research, the influence of traditional miniature art and folk applied art on the contemporary landscape genre, as well as the conceptual significance of the colour palette in the awareness of national identity, are elucidated.
