Abstract

This article analyses the formation of the landscape genre and the stages of its development from historical and theoretical perspectives. In the course of the research, the place occupied by the landscape genre in the process extending from ancient times to contemporary fine art, its artistic features, and its directions of development are elucidated. It also examines the ways in which artists of different periods depicted nature, their compositional solutions, and their aesthetic views. The article substantiates the formation of the landscape genre as an independent genre and its development in realistic, romantic, and contemporary directions. In addition, the distinctive aspects of the landscape genre in Uzbek fine art and its harmony with national traditions are analysed. The results of the research are of considerable importance in teaching fine art and in developing the aesthetic thinking of young artists.
