DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ GRAPHIC THINKING BY CREATING 3D GRAPHIC IMAGES IN AUTOCAD

Abstract
Drawing on the use of computer technologies, this article addresses the processes of working in the AutoCAD program, the creation of three-dimensional graphic drawings, the execution of various part variants and the formation of their graphic representations. Important theoretical and practical information is presented that serves to raise the computer literacy of pupils and students while working with graphic programs and, at the same time, to develop their graphic thinking. Introductory concepts of the AutoCAD program and general information on the 3D graphic programs of the Autodesk company are set out, with particular emphasis on their importance in consolidating pupils' knowledge, preparing high-quality drawings and efficiently producing graphic images. The stages of constructing simple views of a part, determining the third view on the basis of two projections, obtaining a pictorial representation, and creating a genuine 3D model with the aid of AutoCAD are also explained through practical examples.
