Abstract

This article offers a scientific and methodological analysis of the graphic rules for dimensioning parts, the place of linear scale in technical drawing, and the interrelationship between them. The study highlights the importance of dimensioning in conveying constructive information and its role in ensuring the accuracy and readability of a drawing through standardised graphic means (dimension lines, extension lines, arrows and dimension figures). Furthermore, the function of linear scale in expressing the relationship between the graphic image and real dimensions on the basis of geometric similarity and proportionality is substantiated. The article assesses the integration of dimensioning and scale as an important factor in correctly interpreting drawings, ensuring accuracy in production and effectively organising engineering communication. In addition, the harmony of these two components is also of practical value on account of its pedagogical significance in developing pupils' graphic literacy, spatial thinking and visual perception.
