CRITERIA AND METHODS FOR ASSESSING NATIONAL MUSIC LISTENING SKILLS IN GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOLS

Abstract
This article analyses the criteria and methodological approaches for forming listening skills in secondary school pupils and for assessing national musical works. The study examines the processes of musical perception, the culture of listening, aesthetic thinking and the understanding of the national musical heritage from a pedagogical standpoint. It also covers the difficulties involved in creating an assessment system that helps to determine the level of pupils' ability to analyse music through listening, to distinguish means of expression and to comprehend artistic content. The article substantiates strategies for improving assessment criteria on the basis of existing teaching aids, interactive methodologies and the competence-based approach.
