THE EVOLUTION AND CLASSIFICATION OF THE DUTOR IN NATIONAL MUSICAL CULTURE

Abstract
This article provides information on the rich cultural heritage of the people of Uzbekistan — the historical development of national musical instruments, their aesthetic significance and their place today. The inimitable sounds, attractive ornamentation and performance capabilities of national instruments show that they constitute not only the cultural wealth of their own era but also acquire important significance in contemporary musical art and education. The article analyzes in detail the origin and historical significance of ancient percussion, noise-making and wind instruments, as well as the archaeological finds associated with them. It also elucidates the distinctive features of instruments such as the dutar, the techniques of their making, their tuning and their performance styles. The reforms carried out in the fields of music education and performance after Uzbekistan gained independence, together with state policy aimed at supporting young talents, are likewise discussed extensively in the article. This study constitutes a significant step toward enriching the practical importance of national instruments and expanding their pedagogical and creative possibilities.
